Dahab has sites to suit divers of all levels. Reef 2000 can take you to a wide variety of guided dives, from the beautiful coral formations, spectacular fish life, to the dramatic sites of the ´Canyon´ and ´Bells/ Blue Hole´. Dahab is one of the most amazing shore diving areas in the world. Camel diving Reef 2000 offers camel diving. This is a one-day adventure camel safari to the beautiful and remote marine and wildlife reserve of Ras Abu Galum. Your day begins already at 6:30am, ready to depart at approximately 7:00am from the dive centre where all your gear will be loaded into the jeep and pick-ups. You will then be transported to the Blue Hole (about 25 mins away). Once at Ras Abu Galum you will use the services of a Bedouin family there who will provide a shelter for the day. The first dive into the pristine coral gardens of Ras Abu Galum will be followed by a second after a short rest, to catch the best light. The Bedouin guides will provide a feast after the dives.
A typical day’s diving 8:45-9:00 Pick up from hotel 9:15 Arrive at dive centre and check in with your dive guide. Collect any rental or personal equipment stored at dive centre. (Check in procedures take longer on the first day, allow up to 35 minutes). 9:30-9.45 Depart dive centre by jeep for first dive site. 10:00-10:30 Arrive at first dive site, kit up, dive and safety briefing and first dive with services of dive guide. Surface interval and lunch on shore in a Bedouin style restaurant (payable locally). 13:30 Second dive either at the same site or after transferring to another location. Third dives are occasionally available depending on timing and local conditions. (Third dive is payable locally.) 16:00-16:30 Return to dive centre by jeep. (Most equipment can be stored at the dive centre for the next day’s diving BCD’s, regulators, wetsuits, weightbelts). Torches, cameras and computers should be stored in a locker at the dive centre or taken to your hotel room for recharging and downloading. 16:30-17:30 Enjoy a drink with your dive buddies and dive guides, compare photos and stories. 17:30 Transfer back to hotel by bus or jeep.
